It took a while for us to find the Discovery Trail. It must have been the heat as it seemed quite obvious but we just couldn't find it! It turned out to be just on the other side of the road that we were walking on. Did I mention that it was hot?!? We stopped by for ice-cream to motivate the children. It didn't last long...as we recommenced upon the trail, they soon recommenced their complaints. Jonah was convinced that he was severely dehydrated and would die if he kept walking. Lara was certain that she was being bitten alive by bugs. Elliot appeared to have a heat delirium sending him into hyperactivity.
On account of everyone's wilting status, we decided to shorten the walk and cut back into town to have dinner. A short stop for breakfast provisions (including a giant box of blueberries for $5!) ended our day.
Wonderful view of the town from our room window |
Our little Canada Day purchase turned out to be super handy, keeping our fruit and water cold |
