Santo Domingo River Rafting

Today's post will be short and sweet!

We spent our day rafting along the beautiful Santo Domingo River "just" outside of Medellin. We drove over the eastern edge of the bowl and descended down to a little shack to meet our guides for today - Miles and Didier. It was a pretty simple day, we spent about 1.5 hour on the water, rafting, swimming, swinging off ropes and having the most delicious farmer's lunch wrapped in banana leaf complete with local lemonade. We didn't see ANYONE else on the river! No photos unfortunately because we all left our phones on the bus! The scenery was so picture perfect, we felt like we were in a movie. Tall mountains covered with mist at the top, lush rainforest lining the shores, crystal clear water, birds catching fish, butterflies, rafting through vines, having lunch on an island of stones and rock...couldn't ask for more.

Dinner was at a franchise called Crepe and Waffle. It was a chain of restaurants that support single mothers so we gave it a go as Pablo said the food was good. He was right but crepes for dinner and crepes for dessert was probably over the top!

Stay tuned for another road trip tomorrow!

The guides affectionally named their 4WD Bananito or little banana

This was in contrast to our ride from Medellin! We had 2 hours in THIS bus so not complaining!

Mine was "Chipotle"

We thought we'd be too full to finish 3 desserts

Yes they were good! Here's the proof!
