Love |
Today would be the first of many sea days so I will keep my post brief! Despite big swells overnight, we woke up to a beautiful morning and looking out I remembered how much I love the ocean even on a sub-par cruise line! On that note, I'm happy to report that today was a much better day.
The good:
- Fiona, the Fearless! She weathered those rough seas like a seasoned mariner! Perhaps a life as a cruiser awaits her after all.
- Buffet Bliss (relatively speaking): Credit where credit is due – the buffet on the Crown Princess showed a marked improvement in organisation compared to our experience on the Royal Princess. The thoughtful arrangement of similar dishes made navigating the options a breeze, and opening only one side at a time was a surprisingly effective way to manage the flow of hungry cruisers. Plus, the food itself was acceptable.
- Dinner win: Tonight's dinner was actually delicious! For those who thrive on the details on what actually goes into my tummy...I indulged in some lovely ahi-tuna, a satisfying roast beef, and a classic crepe suzette. Just a little peek into what fueled today's adventures!
The bad:- The show tonight was one of the production shows called Magic To Do. It was a collaboration between Steven Schwartz and Princes Cruises showcasing his work and music. While the premise of weaving magic show elements with his iconic music held such promise, the execution left me utterly perplexed, quickly followed by a distinct sense of boredom. The song choices felt random, the vocal performances lacked strength, and the entire show lacked any real cohesion or narrative flow. Even the costuming felt oddly out of place! Honestly, a straightforward "Best of Stephen Schwartz" concert would have been far more enjoyable.
- A big, fat elderly man "fartled" us today. Fartle. Definition: To fart so loudly and unexpectedly that you startle someone. It was then followed very quickly with an overwhelming odious whiff.
The unexpected:
- We enjoyed some of the activities more than we thought we would. Who have known we would be so invested in a game of giant jenga between the officers and the guests? And that fruit and vegetable carving could be so gripping...
So, while the cruise continues to have its ups and downs, today definitely leaned more towards the positive side. Here's hoping for more smooth sailing! Stay tuned for more tales from the high seas!

I LOVE fruit and vegetable carving! |

Got to make most of the inclusions. Premium sundaes. Quality much the same as the Royal Princess. Way too sweet, too much cream and syrup and not enough of the good stuff like the ice-cream itself |

Winner winner chicken dinner! $100 spa voucher!!! |
 |
Pre-dinner drinks and canape |

We thought we'd better moderate ourselves and ordered accoringly |

The show that sadly did not deliver |
