First Day of School

In the blink of an eye, our baby is heading off to school! No more special days together shopping or having lunch out. Jonah was initially excited about going to big school until he discovered that he had to attend every day...

His first day went by and seemingly went well. No tears were shed by either mother or child and he came home happy.

Determined to put on his shoes himself

Ready to go!

Yay we made it through the first day!

All in the same class! Children of fellow medical university mates! Out of 6 kindergarten classes, what were the odds!!!

The Happiest Place On Earth

Trying to complete a blog post nearly one full year after the event is never a good idea... All the details are unfortunately gone from this near senile brain but the happy memories thankfully remain! So here is a quick photo journey of our remaining time at the Happiest Place on Earth before our trip back home to Sydney after what was another special and amazing holiday with family and friends.

Umm...did I say it was the Happiest Place on Earth?!? Obviously not to all!

One mountain conquered! Both very proud of tacking the Matterhorn

Lara also finally managed to psych herself to going on Space Mountain after much initial objection. She ended up loving it!

One of our most enjoyable meals every...

...because of this very delicious artery clogger. The Monte Cristo sandwich at Cafe Orleans. Battered turkey, ham and Swiss cheese sandwich deepfried then dusted with sugar and served with a berry puree

Almost like the real French Quarter

Couldn't handle her brother having so much fun pin trading so decided to use her Christmas money towards pins as well

Downtown Disney

Churros of different flavours!

Because of the rush towards Carsland, we were THE FIRST to get to Toy Story Mania! We went on it 3 times in a row. Our arms were barely functional after the last ride

A very quiet Luigi's Flying Tires. We're not complaining!

No line!!

Who would have thought such a silly ride could be so much fun!!!

The other so-silly-its-ridiculously-fun ride...Mater's Junkyard Jamboree

The Golden Horseshoe, a classic favourite for a quick bite with great entertainment

Never too old to post with characters

Can't go to Disney without watching a parade!

Still not happy!

Panicking...our three quarter day at Disneyland. Gotta squeeze everything in...

Early breakfast at the park

The new Fantasyland Theatre, another enjoyable hit with the family

We just love Disney shows

Mr Toad's Wild Ride, another oldie but goodie. So much fun!

Elliot thrilled to be able to play wreck it Ralph!

Storm trooper!And lots of merchandise...

One last look....sob

On the way home with Iron Man...

Carsland

We have been dreaming of Carsland since it opened. So many people have gone and loved it, coming back with great photos. We couldn't wait to see if the place was just as good as real life! The change in time zone worked to our advantage. We were up nice and early in time to make the early entry to Disney's California Adventures (DCA). We weren't the only ones with that idea. Even though we came 30 minutes before the scheduled opening time, there was already a decent sized line in place which grew rapidly by the minute! We were glad that we didn't dawdle and that it wasn't peak season!

We headed straight for Radiator Springs Racers (RSR). I had not seen the children walk so fast...ever. Although there was already a line, it moved reasonably quickly and we were soon on! Elliot and Lara loved it but Jonah was a little frightened. We acquired ourselves some fastpasses for RSR, although by this time, the return time was already sometime mid afternoon! Taking in the sights and atmosphere of Carsland was such a delightful thing to do. Towmater's Junkyard Jamboree was a hoot as was Luigi's Flying Tires. We ambled in and out of the shops ogling at the merchandise.

We spent the rest of the day enjoying our favourites at DCA. Aladdin never ceases to disappoint. We returned in the evening to revisit the neons of Carsland as we were too tired the evening before to fully appreciate it! It was unbelievable! Everyone returned back to the villa exhausted but sated. It was just enjoyable all around.

Walking through Radiator Springs with purpose

Scenery looks like the movie!
