Last day of the cruise! We docked at Nassau in the Bahamas
at 8am and were literally the first to get off the ship. If what our waiter was
saying was accurate, we sailed past both Nicholas Cage’s and Sylvester
Stallone’s houses on our way in. Getting a taxi from the port was much like the
scene from Finding Nemo where the seagulls were shouting out “Mine Mine Mine". We were jostled around as the taxi drivers fought for our business. Our destination today was Atlantis. The fare to Paradise Island where Atlantis was was a flat $4 per person plus $1 to cross the bridge.
Once in the taxi, it was a quick ride to Comfort Suites Paradise
Island which was right next to Atlantis. A little bit of internet research
showed that some savings could be made by booking a room at the Comfort Suites
instead of buying the passes for Atlantis directly from Atlantis or from the
cruise ship. Part of the room benefits at the Comfort Suites was full access to
the pools, beaches, aquarium and Aquaventure at Atlantis.
Check in at the Comfort Suites was quick but the walk to
where we had to get our wristbands at Atlantis itself was long. By the time everything was sorted it was well past 9am. Atlantis itself was also sprawled.
Today was going to be a good step count day!
The whole family enjoyed the waterslides of Aquaventure
immensely. One of the highlights were the water slides going through the shark
tank! The rapids river was also good family fun. Alas, our afternoon had to end
as we had a ship to board and suitcases to pack. We couldn’t believe how
quickly the week had gone by. Cruising in the Haven has definitely been a
privilege. Not having to line up and having our space was a premium that we now
fully appreciate! We are hopeful that we will be able to cruise this way again
in the future!
