A Disney Day

After yesterday's big day, everyone was glad to have an opportunity to sleep in. Nothing was planned today other than enjoying the facilities at Aulani. The first stop was the gift shops, I was finally let loose to purchase merchandise. So many things to buy! I had to resist the temptation to buy Golu, a friend of Duffy's that the Japanese guests were going crazy over. Instead, Mal and I settled for matching shirt and dress.

We staked out our favourite lounge chairs and enjoyed the pool and beach. A note for the Australian coffee lover, there is espresso coffee available although it is not cheap. We tried the Aulani special which was mocha macadamia nut. It was pretty good! They also provide free ice cold water by the pools. Lunch was from Off the Hook, another poolside dining option. There was a server who took our orders and delivered it to us which made it very convenient! The lunch options were decent and the food was good.

We had to break from the water activities for our scheduled cultural tour for DVC members. Uncle, our local Disney host, took us on a 45 minute tour of the property highlighting artwork, flora, and architecture woven with stories from the Hawaiian culture.

The rest of the afternoon was a combination of laundry, nap, and more swimming before a simple dinner at the Ulu Cafe. If you ever get the chance to try the pumpkin soft serve, go for it!
