Today's post will be super brief as we were mostly travelling. We were moving from Central Turkey to the Aegean Coast. It was long day with an hour drive in the morning, 2 local flights and then another hour drive to Kusadasi. By the time we reached our hotel, it was 5pm. There was something comforting about seeing the sea, perhaps it was the fact that 17 degrees celcius felt amazingly warm!
Our home for the next 4 nights was the Charisma Deluxe Hotel. Surprisingly, despite only booking the lower category room, we were all gifted with unobstructed views of the Aegean Sea! The hotel itself is beautiful, but a leak from the elevators (according the barman anyway!) meant wafts of petroleum smells throughout the public areas which was highly unpleasant. Other pluses was that the showers had great pressure with hot water that heats up very quickly, there was an onsite Starbucks with the most amazing views, and that the gym facilities were impressive! We were also an easy 600m walk to town.
A motif we were told was typical in Cappadocia |
The closest we'll come to the real thing! Our driver was kind enough to do a short detour so we can at least see what we could have done lol |

Finally at Izmir airport, This photo made because of the wifi symbol...the first thing that the kids spotted! And yes we did have wifi for our hour long drive |
Yay for single seats! Elliot gets to look at Opa and chat with him |
