Animal Kingdom

We made use of our proximity to the Animal Kingdom and headed there for the day. The plan was to slow down and take the time to enjoy the beautiful park. So much for that plan! There was so much to see! We spent our time rushing from one place to another.

Are you ready for this bunch of animals Animal Kingdom?

The leader of pack

We started with Wilderness Explorers, a new interactive experience where the children could complete activities and receive stickers/badgers. We first had to be initiated and recited the Wilderness Explorers Call with gusto, "Caw caw roar"! Even the cast member was impressed. We were then off to collect stickers. This process forced us to see things that we would have otherwise skipped, like Rafiki's Planet Watch. Amongst the crazy sticker collecting, we managed to ride Dinosaur, Expedition Everest and Primeval Whirl, and watched Finding Nemo, another great Disney production. Kali River Rapids was sadly closed for refurbishment.

We ended the day with Kilamanjaro Safari. The ladies then gleefully left the children with the men as they rushed off back to the resort. We ran a marathon to catch our bus to give ourselves ample time to beautify ourselves for our girls dinner out at Narcoossee's. We really enjoyed the opportunity for fellowship together as women without the distractions of our children! The food was superb!

We completed the girly experience with a Downtown Disney shopping expedition. The freezing conditions were enough to deter even the most dedicated shoppers. We called it quits after about an hour and returned home.

Another great attraction

The ladies shared 3 appetizers, 3 entrees and 4 desserts between 5 of us. This one is the very delicious mussels
