Ski Safari Day 4

Finally our last day "on the road". The sun had come out and the winds eased but not enough to reopen all the chairlifts. The family had to split today, Lara and I opted out of the LONG 7.5km run back to the villa, the famous Lagazuoi run. Unfortunately we would also miss out on the iconic Noriker horse carriage, where horses pull the skiers along the relatively flat path. Lara was so conflicted!! In the end, the ski-mobile run down the mountain to save painful shins won out!

The girls spent the afternoon relaxing at our hotel (Manuela had called ahead and organised for our rooms to be ready. Lucky it had just switched to low season now...), and Luca took the boys to the snow fun park to finish off the afternoon. Manuela came to the hotel in the afternoon to greet the boys on their return to make sure everyone came back safely. We farewelled and thanked Luca profusely. We covered anywhere between 28-50km per day! I'm not sure we could have done this without him!

Our view when we woke up. Rigufio Averau sitting at altitude of 2413m
