| Goodbye Miami! See you in a week |
Today's blog post is brought to you by Elliot!
The day had finally arrived. Today, we would board the NCL Encore. After Frantic packing in the morning, followed by stressful Uber rides, we found ourselves at the Port of Miami, looking up at the enormous ship in front of us. Thanks to being part of the 'Haven', we were able to wave at other passengers lining up while we boarded the ship almost instantly, where we settled down in our cabins and planned the rest of the day.
The first thing we did was have lunch at the Haven restaurant (a dining place exclusive to Haven guests), where we had a variety of massive and delicious dishes such as a Brie Burger and a French Dip. After we stuffed ourselves, the mandatory safety drill was conducted, the alarm deafaening everyone as always. Finally free, we explored the rest of the ship with Oma and Opa, discovering numerous fun activities to do later when at sea, most notably laser tag, speedway (similar to gokart racing), a VR arcade, and an intimidating water slide. Mum also signed up for the Spa raffle, but unfortunately did not get lucky this time.
It was now time for dinner where we ate at the haven restaurant again, this time trying their surf and turf, duck breast and jumbo shrimp cocktails, followed by coffee and icecream for desert. Mum, tired of the day of transit retreated back to the cabin to relax while the rest of us went and competed in laser tag. The four of us were assigned as one team, set against a horde of younger kids. The brilliant execution of the gamemode as well as the fantastic obstacles and decoration made this rendition of laser tag extremely fun and engaging, but most importantly, we slaughtered them.
The tremendous start made us excited for the week to come, eager to embark on our Caribbean Cruise.
