Hello Georgetown!

Today was departure day. We were picked up at 11am to be at the airport 3 hours prior to our scheduled 2:45pm flight to Cayman Islands. However, when we got there, we were horrified to see that our flight wasn’t listed on the board. It turned out that we were dropped off at the wrong terminal! Our guide had forgotten to check…After a panicked phone call, he had contacted the bus drive to turn around, pick us all up again and drove us the 3km to the correct terminal. After checking in, and getting through immigration and security, we were dismayed to see that our flight was delayed until 5:30pm. Argh!!! We were not done with Cuba yet! Waiting out the hours in a single hall terminal with only 1 food outlet which had run out of food felt like eternity. Finally we were called to walk out to walk onto the tarmac and board on Caymay Air plane! The joy of the family on arrival at Georgetown, Grand Cayman was palpable. We never thought we’d be so happy to see a picture of the Queen on the wall. Yes to English! Yes to driving on the left hand of the ride, Yes to creature comforts! And a big yes to free wifi!

We crammed into our rental Hyundai 9 seater packed expertly like tetris pieces. Fortunately the drive to the Comfort Suites was brief. We checked in and walked to the nearby Chicken Chicken for some jerk chicken, relishing the clean sidewalks and clean air. Who would have thought that eating coleslaw could be so satisfying?!? We snuggled into our comfortable beds happy to start the next leg of our journey

Waiting...waiting...waiting...

Let's get to our plane!

Hello bed!
